Come share your research in a friendly, supportive environment of your peers, by giving an oral presentation or poster.
Learn hot tips from experts on how to effectively communicate your science in both academic and public forums.
Talk to people from the real world about making the leap from student to professional.
All of this on a subtropical island with plenty of good company, refreshments, and karaoke.

Cost: $150 for Masters/PhD/recent Postdocs; $100 for Honours students.

Optional Friday Workshop (Full-Day)*  

Creating Conceptual Diagrams for Communicating Science

*additional cost of $45; limited to 15 participants A diagram is worth 10,000 words!  Learn with experienced science communicator Kate Moore. Includes:
• Lecture on effective science communication using conceptual diagrams
• Step by step guide to your own creation using Adobe Illustrator CS4
• Time to work on your own diagram with tutors present to assist

Weekend Overview

Friday: General arrival & registration (from 4 pm), evening mixer with nibbles
Saturday: Plenary workshops, student research presentations, Pathways to Employment panel discussion, poster session & social activity
Sunday: Concurrent workshops, Scientific Writing workshop, depart mid afternoon
