AMSA Student Information
AMSA places great importance on the development of marine scientists in Australia and offers financial incentives
to encourage and enable student participation both in the annual conference and at international conferences.
AMSA's constitutional definition of a Student is:
7(ii)
Student Members. Student Members shall be individuals who are studying relevant subjects at tertiary level education and have not yet taken their first degree, provided that the Council may admit to student membership individuals who, although having taken their first degree, are in part-time or full-time student status.
Annual Conference Prizes and Subsidy
Prizes that reward scientific achievement by students for presentations (poster and
oral) are offered at each annual conference.
Student Prizewinners from past conferences
A travel subsidy to assist students to attend the annual conference is also available for eligible students.
AMSA Allen International Student Travel Award
AMSA's Allen International Student Travel Award is to support an outstanding postgraduate student to attend an international conference each year in any field of marine science.
It is important to check the eligibility criteria for both prizes and subsidy.
